In her late teens, Dr. Maclean suffered a serious accident that left her with constant headaches and numbness in her hands. After two years of physiotherapy and rehabilitation this condition persisted. While the medical doctors were recommending a spinal fusion, a family friend, who happened to be a neurosurgeon, recommended a chiropractor. Through sheer desperation, Barb was taken to the recommended Chiropractor and the results were amazing. Headaches and numbness were virtually eliminated without any need for spinal surgery. In addition, she now had a new career option.
Prior to becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic, Barb received an honors degree in Kinesiology-Sports Medicine from the University of Waterloo. She treated varsity and elite athletes both on the field and in the rehabilitation clinic. While getting her Chiropractic degree, she also found time to head up the operation of a busy motor vehicle accident rehabilitation centre.
Dr. Maclean graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1996. In 2001, Dr. Maclean completed her fellowship in Pediatric Chiropractic.
